COMMON SITUATIONS

An assessment adapted to your situation

Every patient is different. The assessment takes into account your personal circumstances, the type of tumour and the most appropriate treatment options.

Older age and frailty

Frailty, general health and other medical conditions are assessed in order to tailor treatment to each patient.

Recurrent tumours

Assessment and treatment of tumours that have come back after previous treatment.

Tumours in delicate areas

Such as the nose, eyelids, ears, lips or scalp, where removal may require complex reconstruction.

Incomplete previous excision

Assessment and treatment when the tumour has not been completely removed.

Young patients

The impact of treatment on function and appearance is taken into account.
TYPES OF TUMOUR

Treatment according to tumour type

The type of treatment is decided after an individual assessment of each case.

Melanoma

Surgical treatment and a multidisciplinary approach when needed: wide local excision, sentinel lymph node biopsy and surgery for lymph node metastases.

Basal cell and squamous cell carcinoma

Surgical treatment adapted to the type, size and location of the tumour, including Mohs surgery for high-risk tumours and reconstruction in critical areas.

Rare tumours

Such as dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans, treated with surgery with microscopic control of the margins, or Merkel cell carcinoma, which requires a multidisciplinary approach.

Where will my treatment take place?

The most suitable setting for each patient is decided individually, based on the type of lesion, its location, the patient's general clinical condition and the complexity of the procedure, always taking the patient's own preferences into account.
